Our wedding day is Saturday 20th September at Cragwood Country House Hotel, Windermere LA23 1LQ (see map). The hotel is easily accessed, just off Ambleside Road, the turning before Brockholes Visitor Centre. There is plenty of parking at the property. Alternatively the 555 or 599 bus runs from Windermere train station and stops outside.
We are opting for a tiny ceremony with our closest family and thank our guests for respecting this and joining us for our celebrations from 2pm onwards reception guests. Please note that only guests named on invitations can enter the property, and unfortunately we can't accommodate any little ones!
If you are staying with us your room will be ready by 3pm (most likely earlier). The wedding barbecue will be served at 3:30pm. When evening calls we'll head inside to dance the night away! Make sure to let us know what song will get you on the dance floor when you RSVP.
Bright, colourful, fun, and sparkly! As we hope to be outdoors wraps or layers are advised, and dancing shoes are mandatory.
Ladies attending ceremony, we ask that you please wear pink or green.
If you're up for a wild dip do bring along wet shoes, Crocs, or similar.
There are plenty of rooms at Cragwood and we’d love to extend the celebrations by having breakfast with all our guests - and a wild dip in Windermere if you’re brave enough! - before you spend the rest of Sunday ambling in Ambleside or browsing Bowness.
Rooms are available from 3pm (very likely earlier) and checkout is 11am. Payment is taken on checkout. The prices we have been given are as follows:
Please note we cannot guarantee allocation of particular rooms and immediate family will be given preference.Cross your fingers and hope for sunshine, because we plan to enjoy a big barbecue on the terrace with views over the lake and gardens! Veggie and seafood options included. In the evening we’ll fuel your dancing with fish and chips. Fun fact: this was the meal we celebrated our engagement with.

If the weather allows (because even I’m not daft enough to dip in a downpour) we will run down to the lake at 8am on Sunday morning. Dip your toe or dive fully in, then warm up with a shower and a full English before we wave you off.
